Elaina Smolin is, at the time of publication, a second-year Writing and Literature student in the College of Creative Studies. Her piece, A Manual to Grief in a Pandemic, chronologizes the deaths of five of her family members in 2021 and the complicated, sometimes funny parts of grief.
